In short
Mataï lets you save your sizes and measurements and share them with your loved ones. This page explains which data is processed, why, and how to exercise your rights.
Data controller
The data controller is p2s, publisher of Mataï (personal, non-professional website). Contact: pdeuxsia@gmail.com.
Data processed
- Account: email address and, depending on the method you choose, a password or your Google account. If you sign in with Google, Google shares your email address, name and profile picture; the picture is shown in the header and, unless you turn it off for a share, on your shares. The password is handled by Firebase Authentication: the publisher never sees it.
- Profile: displayed name, birth date and gender. Only the name is requested, at your first share; birth date and gender are optional.
- Sizes: the sizes you wear, by brand or in general, with the range (women, men, kids), category, how the brand runs, how you wear it, an optional note and when they were updated; your preferred fit per category. Brands you add join the shared catalogue.
- Measurements: height, weight, head, neck, bust, underbust, waist and hip circumferences, inseam, shoe size, and when they were updated.
- Measurement history: one dated entry for each day you save your measurements, plus the past entries you add.
- People you keep track of (child, partner, parent…): first name, optional birth date and gender, and, as for you, their sizes, measurements and history. You enter them under your responsibility, with the person’s consent when they can give it; they have no account and only you can see them.
- Shares: name of each share, selected size categories and measurements, public link and its status (active or not).
- Security: technical signals from your browser (IP address, device, browser, interactions with the page) analysed by Google reCAPTCHA Enterprise, on every page including share pages, to check that requests really come from Mataï (Firebase App Check).
- Audience measurement, only if you accept it: visit statistics (pages viewed, device type, approximate country) collected by Google Analytics.
Purposes and legal bases
- Providing the service (account, saving measurements, shares): performance of the service you request by creating an account.
- Birth date: suggesting suitable measurements, choosing the body outline for the age (child, adult, senior) and, for a person under 16, kids sizes and a more frequent measuring reminder. It is optional.
- Gender: showing the matching body outline (female or male; neutral with no gender given), including to the people you share with.
- Security (email verification, abuse prevention, reCAPTCHA Enterprise checking that requests come from Mataï, with no checkbox): legitimate interest.
- Size suggestions: your sizes and measurements are used anonymously and in aggregate to suggest a size to people with similar measurements. No individual data is ever published and no result is shown below 5 people. Legal basis: legitimate interest; you can object at any time (Settings > Contribute to size suggestions).
- Audience measurement: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
What the people you share with can see
An active share can be opened by anyone who has its link, without an account. They see the displayed name, your Google profile picture if you sign in with Google ("Show my profile picture" option, on by default), the body outline (female or male based on your profile, a child under 10; neutral with no gender given), the measurements you selected and when they were updated, and your sizes in the categories you ticked. If you turn on "Include the evolution", they also see the history of those same measurements. Your email address and birth date are never shared.
A link can show several people you keep track of, each with their own settings: the recipient sees their first name and what you ticked for each. For a person under 16, they also see their age (birth month and year, never the day).
Share pages are not indexed by search engines. You can limit a link's duration (1, 3 or 6 months; no limit by default), disable or delete it at any time: its link then stops working. Once a person turns 16, their birth month is no longer shown.
Hosting and processors
Data is hosted by Google (Firebase), a processor of Mataï. The database (Cloud Firestore) is located in the European Union (eur3 region).
Authentication (including "Continue with Google" and sign-in links sent by email), website hosting, abuse protection (reCAPTCHA Enterprise) and audience measurement are provided by Google, which may process some data outside the European Union, including in the United States. These transfers are covered by the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and the European Commission standard contractual clauses.
Retention
- Account, profile, measurements, history and shares: kept as long as your account exists. You can erase your history at any time (Settings). They are deleted immediately when you delete your account (Settings).
- Audience measurement statistics: kept for 14 months at most by Google Analytics.
Your rights
You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, object to and port your data, and to withdraw your consent at any time.
In Mataï: edit your information in My measurements, My sizes, History and Settings; download all your data (JSON file) and delete your account from Settings. For any other request: pdeuxsia@gmail.com.
You can also lodge a complaint with the French data protection authority, the CNIL (www.cnil.fr).
